Safety at DoorCrew
Verification you can see. Standards you can count on.
DoorCrew takes an active role in verifying the people who use our platform. This page explains what we check, how we handle issues, and what you should know about safety when using DoorCrew.
How we protect customers and providers
Secure payment processing
All payments on DoorCrew are processed through Stripe. Your card details are never stored on DoorCrew servers. Stripe is PCI-compliant and used by millions of businesses worldwide.
Provider identity verification
Every provider submits a government-issued ID during onboarding. Our team manually reviews all submissions. Providers are not approved until identity verification is complete.
Work authorization review
Providers must submit documents confirming their legal eligibility to work in Canada. This is reviewed manually before provider approval.
Background report review
All providers consent to a background report review as part of onboarding. Providers who do not meet our standards are not approved. We do not guarantee a background report will catch every concern, but it is a required step.
Credential checks for regulated services
Providers offering regulated services — such as electrical, plumbing, or gas work — must upload applicable licences or certifications. These are reviewed before those service categories are enabled on their profile.
Live booking updates
Customers receive real-time notifications at key points during their booking: when the provider is on their way, when they arrive, and when the job is completed.
Support and dispute handling
Every support ticket is linked to the associated booking. Customers and providers can upload photos, screenshots, or documents as evidence. Our team reviews every escalated issue.
Complaints and no-show policy
Repeated complaints, verified no-shows, or violations of platform standards can result in account suspension or permanent removal. We investigate before taking action.
Data privacy and document handling
Verification documents are stored securely and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We retain documents only as long as required for verification and compliance purposes. Providers and customers may request data deletion.
Important safety notes
- DoorCrew verifications reduce risk but do not guarantee any particular outcome for every booking. Use your judgment.
- If you ever feel unsafe during a service, leave the situation and contact local emergency services immediately.
- DoorCrew support is available for booking issues, but is not a replacement for emergency services.
- Customers and providers should keep records of their bookings and any communications through the app.
- Verification documents and background reports are reviewed by our team but not shared with customers.
For urgent safety emergencies: Always contact local police (911) or emergency services first. DoorCrew support handles platform disputes — not emergencies.
